Jay Cutler Talks Olympia Prejudging, Phil Heath and Gives Bodybuilding Tips!
The day after the Mid-Atlantic Classic, MPR (Muscle Performance Regulator) held a training seminar with Jay Cutler. The 4x Mr Olympia talks about how he felt he was only at 80% of what he wanted to be at in the Olympia prejudging round. He also talks about how he met Phil Heath and was instrumental in Heaths career back in 2003. Jay also gives tips on diet and talks training for the fans
We all witnessed history being made when Jay Cutler took the crown for the fourth time running, this September at the 2010 Mr. Olympia contest. Jay defended his throne and claimed it as his own once again and Muscular Development, which Jay calls his castle, the world’s biggest and best bodybuilding magazine – where else would the king reside? We were the first magazine to sign Jay in 2001; now that we’ve both reached the top, thanks to our loyal followers, it’s our pleasure to honor and congratulate MD’s native son and share the glory of his triumph.
Jay came in this year with great conditioning and unrivaled mass. You don’t topple the king unless you can crush him – and no competitor in Vegas this year was able to do that. Jay has the genetic structure – he outsizes everybody. As wide as a house and with jaw-dropping width, he is thick, dense, and larger than life.
Jay’s mass is obvious from his gargantuan, flaring quads, wide back and thick chest. His shoulders look six inches wider than Phil Heath’s, who placed second. Jay won the prejudging and the finals; Jay had straight first –place votes on Saturday night and wound up beating Phil by eight points.
Jay is a legend, an all-time great along with Dorian Yates, Ronnie, Coleman, Lee Haney and Arnold Schwarzenegger. And Jay proved it by reclaiming his Mr. Olympia title last year and holding onto it this year. Jay plans on coming back next year, better than ever, to defend his crown for a fifth Mr. Olympia title. And we’re proud to have Jay as a member of Team MD.
Jay is an amazing competitor who has placed second or better in all his contests from 2001 to 2010. Jay practically has his own decade – the era of “King Cutler” – that’s still going strong. Since 2001, there were nine times when Jay placed no lower than second place at the Olympia. If not for Ronnie Coleman, Jay would have won a few more Sandows. Jay lost to Ronnie and placed second in 2001; he didn’t’ compete in 2002. Jay lost by one point in 2004, placed second to Ronnie in 2005, and beat Ronnie in 2006 and 2007.
Through it all, Jay has been a magnificent ambassador for bodybuilding, and has done more for the sport than anyone else.
What does Jay have to say about his historic victory? There’s only one bodybuilding magazine in the world where you can find out! Check out Ron Harris’ exclusive interview, “Cutler Makes It Four! In a Fight to the Finish, Jay Holds on to his Mr. Olympia Title” in the December issue of MD on sale November 2nd.
