I wish I could get some of my first comp pics scanned and post those as well as I started when I was 27, two yrs after the train wreck I was in. Ya I was on a train and we crashed into a semi truck that was on the tracks at a crossing! I suffered from alot of soft tissue damage as a result of being thrown several hundred feet forward... I came from an athletic background starting back in elementary school breaking track and field records! genetic predisposition for any type of sport without any understanding or knowledge of it I became a very good downhill and cross country skier, loved horses and rode, played tennis, and skate boarded... I started modeling at 17 and then found myself trying out for our prof football league ( the Edmonton Eskimos) cheerleading team and without any experience was chosen out out 350 girls to to a team of 24. That was very exciting but still them did not realized my potential for what was to come....

Aafter 2 yrs in the gym a guy came up to me in the gym and asked me, 'so when is the show?' not sure what he was talking about I asked him to explain. When he said BB I said 'what is that?'. He and I had a great connection right away as friends and he is still my best friend to this day and now has MS. I knew I was always searching for a sort of belonging as a place in life and comr from also a long history of drug and alcohol abuse from age 17-29 when I did my first show. It was Todd that helped find my was into the sport of BB and out of the bar scene !

I won my first show in 1992 1st middle wt and overall ! My biggest issue was getting on stage with next to nothing on, even after being a cheerleader wearing a small tinsel uniform ! It became an instant green light for me as I just loved the prep and showman ship of the entire event and always new that I wanted to be some kind of athlete from a very young age.

My family has always referred me to the gypsy of the family as I like to move a lot... I move from Edmonton to Jasper AB and met a dude there who was also a BB, at that time I wasn't concerned with getting back into the scene but as he became distant I thot maybe it would give us a diff kind of connection so full steam ahead I went again and won the middle wt class at the Alberta's in 93. When I came off stage aft winning my division they head official came back stage and said WE want YOU to represent AB at the Western Canadians in Banff AB! I had just started a new job and had to decline so the overall went to the light wt girl and the trip to Hawaii !! It was then that I picked up non the politics involved with the sport! I then moved to Kelowna, BC and kept going... 95 I won the Gator classic middle wt overall and best poser and 600$ . then in the spring of 96 I picked up on the steroid use of other women as I showed up at the BC provincials and took third place middle wt out of 7 ladies that looked incredible. That was a powerful placing for me and felt a sense of pride that wasn't present at my first two wins!! I then met my future husband and took 5 yrs off and had my daughter at age 36... Then I got back into the gym bz I didn't want the aft mom baby body or blues then the 2001 Western Canadians came to Kelowna where I lived and the spark came back! I put my heart and soul into it for a solid 9 months researching and studying diets and food training for a bigger and more cut body aft I watched the National world Qualifier on TV... the Western's were the preamble for that shows which was a drug tested natural show so I said cool, that's what I want to do! I won that show, masters middle and overall in my home town and leading up to the comp I appeared on a local around town TV show kicking off the promo for it and also appeared on the front cover of the local weekly TV guide and did not lose focus! In in spring 2002 I went to Halifax to the CBBF National world Qualifier and won first place hvy wt and again the overall winner was amazing but it was already determined before any of us stepped on stage!!! in Oct 2002 I went with the Canadian team to the IFBB women's world championship in the Czech Republic and got 10 middle wt out of 15 !
2003 I tried my fate at the Canadian National in Saskatoon AB as a natural athlete in a very unnatural arena...I showed up with a double lung infection from the smoke in Kelowna as wild fires burned for 6 weeks prior and I have asthma ! my system was in trauma but I said I was going to do it and that's what I do! I got 5th masters and 8th middle in one of the largest athlete attended Nationals ever at that time!

In 2005 I won my natural Pro card with the INBA and went to the Natural Universe in 2006 and got first runner up by one point diff apparently I was too lean and was chosen for the random drug test! After been there done that and whats left I took my NEVER to WHATEVER and decided I wanted my IFBB procard ! In 2009 I won the BC Provincials with Olympia shredded glutes weighing 138.6 lbs at 5'5.5...

I have sustained many injuries thru my years of being a teenager and road to competitions and still snowboarding and also long repercussions from that train accident yrs prior but nothing seams to slow me down until Dec of 09 I severed my two thumb tendons on my left hand and it took me out for an entire year! It's still ugly and causes me grief but my passion is so much greater than the pain!

I Moved out to TN in April 2011 and in June competed at the Battle at the River kind of last min... 3 weeks prep as The Train Station fitness team wanted me so badly to do it and I just wanted to volunteer! I had been in intensive chiropractic care 3 weeks prior to prep for some on going crud I have had over the yrs but decided what the hell Ii'm not dead yet ! I won the masters hvy and overall ! It was a National Qualifier ! I went back to Canada for 5 weeks then returned and decided to do the Brandon Curry music City and Dexter Jackson Classic. Not knowing they were NOT Nat Qualifiers I wasn't entitled to do either of those shows and spent a lot of time and money into prep and wasn't told until after prejudging I couldn't take the overall or masters trophy but I could take the hvy class bz I was the only one in it !!!

So there you have the story of Sharyn Lynne Fraser, maiden name Florchyk ... I will be 50 this August :0) and Will get my procard and drive a Harley before I'm 51 !!!
