Are The USPF & WPF A Good Match?

The announcement that the USPF had aligned with the WPF was a shot in the arm for the USPF, finally giving them a World affiliation. However, how good a fit will the WPF be for the USPF?
California State Chair Steve Denison notes at least 13 rules differences between the USPF and WPF. Some might be considered significant, like allowing the monolift and differences in approved equipment. Denison indicates the USPF will be aligning with the WPF rules at the 2008 USPF Nationals, although it's not clear if a monolift will be used. Of note is whether all of the WPF rules end up in the USPF rulebook? Alternatively, will the USPF choose to run meets according to its own rules, like when they were the IPF affiliate?
Just because monolifts are legal in the WPF doesn't mean we are going to use them in the USPF. The WPF mostly uses adjustable racks but monolifts have been used.
