Dear Serge,
I understand that you ate 3-4kg meat every day as you approached your competition. That is tough, no doubt, but that high protein diet is pretty universal with all bodybuilders when ripping down.
How did you eat in the offseason though? When building up? There are stories of bodybuilders, like Sergio Olivia, who ate just anything in the offseason to get big and strong, without any nutritional plan or the like. Same, apparently, goes to Arnold. You could see him toast and three eggs in his videos sometimes, which somehow indicates that he didn't care too much.
Did you eat instinctively during that time or systematically?
With best regards from Vienna,
Pector

I was a litle bit in Arnold and Sergio case, not care to much about my food, but still I ate at least 1 or 2 kg of meat, because I did not have realy offseason, I used to have about 20/30 guest posing a year so I had to be always in good shape, it is why I did only 13 competition in my life.

hi again serge!
Do you think a non-drug athlete has to train in the same fassion (volume training) as some athletes using steroids do? or is it just that the roid-using athlete is able to regenerate a bit faster... but because of that, a natural bodybuilder should make more rest-days in between, am I right?
In my opinion a natural bodybuilder is NOT ABLE to train with programs that come from FLEX Magazine because with so many sets, you're just unable to put allout intensity to every set because, going every set to complete muscle failure, for 3 excercises and 3 sets per muscle would be simply ovetraining or not?
I don't know how much experience you got with natural bodybuildling, but looking at it realisticly, it is very different and somehow you have to use every trick that is available to turn on the growth mechanism.

By reading your post, it means that if I have my muscle it is not about my training, it is only about because I am not a natural bodybuilder.
One thing that you forgot, I started bodybuilding in 1058 I don't think that drogs was so wellknown at this time so how I got my first Mr. Univers title only after 2 years of training, with More than 50 cm arm.
My training is specially for whom don't want to use drogs, because with this volume of weight lifting you produce more testo.

hi again!
no I did not intend to tell it's only about the drugs, no no no, i am very sorry if you understood that wrong There is absolutely no doubt that you have great potential, although some others don't ... bodybuilding is about everything dieting, training, resting and so on, we all know it... but how did you accomplish to get an over 50cm arm, after only 2 years of training, without drugs? of course they weren't that popular, and I do not know how it was in france back at the time, but after 2 years, and packing on so much mass, with the knowledge of that time, which was poor, compared to todays knowledge. for example mike mentzer, who was heavy on steroids at that time had "only" about 48 of arm size after training for over 10 years... so you Serge must have had an extremely outrageous genetic potential if you want to tell me you had over 50cm after only 2 years I train for like 2,5 years now, no drugs, and I barely have 43 ^^ and my bodyfat level is about 17% so real winter condition hehe
and you mentioned that drugs weren't that known at that time, do you mean even you didn't know there were performance enhancing drugs like anabolic steroids to help building mass more quickly by dealing with some side effects? you made it to the mr. univers title 2 years by natural training?
so tell me Serge, because you made me very curious hehe What was your trick for such rapid success ?
while you'll answer, I will take a Look at your training sheets that you have posted earlier because I didnt look at it so far.
ps: don't understand me wrong, you're a true idol to me, and I would have never thought, I could discuss some topics with someone like you from the golden era of bodybuilding, who dedicated his whole life to the greatest sport on earth. I am very thankful for each of your answers to my questions.

dear mr. nubret
first i say welcome on board, in my opinion you are the really best example for success over years. especially at the age over 50 or over 60.
when i started bodybuilding 10 years ago, i aimed to do bodybuilding for my whole life, not as a professional of course, but more than "normal" people do.
also people like sylvester stallone (first he is an actor, but he also does bodybuilding in common sense), who's over 60 years old impresses me very much.
in my opinion this is the aim of bodybuilding: to built well trained, athletic body over years...FOR years...and not only for a short period of time (10 years or less)
not everyone has such an extraordinary genetic potential, but EVERYONE can try to keep moving forward....and this is the main thing, isn't it?
sorry for my bad english, i have not spoken or written since 10 years in english language
it is a really great honor to meet you here, mr. nubret!!!

 Zitat von serge nubret
My training is based on my 3 POWERS which are "MENTAL POWER - EMOTIONAL POWER - PHYSICAL POWER" when you have those 3 POWERS in communion, everything is going fine for you, no need realy to think about anything, they come to you. About training, dieting, when to do it, and what to do. Therefore no ADRENALIN.
The must difficult is to have those POWERS in communion, I don't even know how I had them, I just realise after my success, how and why I reached this success. SO I REALIZED THAT MY INSTINCT OR IF YOU LIKE MY SUBCONSCIENT HAVE GUIDED ME.
So I am trying to tell every body what happened to me, that all, so they can try to have their own POWER in communion too.
Serge
Hello again, Serge!
Thank you for your answer, i keep it in my mind!
But do you have any tipps , how to strongen your mental and emotional powers?
There are so many "thrilling" things , even when you read an exciting book your heart can go a bit faster (is this automatically an adrenalin surge???)... How to keep cool and away from stress (without getting too bored)?
Please help me!
Thanks , greetings from Vienna!!!

This photo of me has been taken after only 2 years after I started bodybuilding, not even taking protein powder. And I was living in Guadeloupe at this time, I did not even know, about dieting.

As I say I became Mr. univers only after 2 years of training the obove picture will show you wich kind of shape I had then. I don't understand one thing, how can you ask me so much question, when you did not even look at my training routine, as you said. Next time read first and then ask question.

Dear Serge,
do you tell other people in the gym how they should train or do you let everyone do their own thing?
Did you ever tried super-sets? According to your plan you didn't. But have you ever?
