Hi Liz,

Thank you for your two e-mails which I want to respond promptly as requested. Before I am going to answer your questions let me explain the reasons that have caused your ineligibility for the World Games:

1. Instead of participating at your Nationals in February at the very same day you took part at a competition of another organization (APF). 2. Early in March you participated in a competition of WPO where a lifter from Ukraine (Oleksiy Solovyov) who after two doping offences has been banned for life by the IPF has lifted. This violation of item 10.11.2 of the IPF Anti-Doping Rules has been forwarded to the IPF Disciplinary Committee for investigation and decision. 3. As we can see from the nomination list of USAPL you will also not take part at the Women's Worlds in Finland in May where doping controlls to all WG participants will be provided.

You certainly will agree with me that being nominated for the World Games is a big honor for every lifter. Therefore the IPF has to expect full loyality and compliance with the existing rules. But a lifter who is subject to investigations by the DC does certainly not comply with these requirements. This was the main reason for the EC decision to not consider you for a World Games participation. By the way the NAPF and the USAPL as your national federation have to respect and execute this decision because they have confirmed to comply and follow all IPF rules with no restrictions and no exemptions allowed.

You might have had reasons why you did not compete at your Nationals, why you competed at the WPO competition together with suspended lifters and why you have decided not to participate at the Women's Worlds. But it was always your personal choice to do so.

I am sorry when Johnny Graham who has informed you could not tell you the reasons for your ineligibility but it should be obvious to you after several reminders which have been given by your president Larry Maile not to lift in other competitions.

If you have further explanations please do not hesitate to contact me. I still reckon you as a great lifter as well as a nice person. But let me give you a private advice: If you want us to get the matter resolved "amicably" you should better not threaten with "legal counsel".

Kind regards

Norbert Wallauch
President IPF
