“Over 100 competitors have been nominated by National Federations to participate in the upcoming World Men’s Classic Bodybuilding Championships and World Fitness & Bodyfitness Cup” – says Natalia Mikhaylova, Russian Federation Technical Committee Chairperson. Kaliningrad is ready to welcome them and the “Yunost” Sport Center will create fantastic conditions for their performance.
Let’s look he will be fighting for the top trophies on the stage in Kaliningrad.
Classic bodybuilding 170 cm
2007 World’s runner-up Vladimir Kambarov will meet 2008 European runner-up Konstantin Paskalev. There will be also 2006 world champion Joel Carlos Scheek, for whom the 2007 season was less successful. Finalists of 2008 events: Farhad Guliyev and Gianluca Fiorenti will play the role of challengers. Twenty athletes will enter the stage in this class.
Classic bodybuilding 175 cm
Once again twenty athletes but no big names from the last year events. In this situation the throne is empty. Who will take place on it? Maybe Petr Fedorov (4th place at the 2007 European), maybe Mariusz Balazinski (finalists of the 2006 World’s), maybe Imre Vahi (finalist of the 2008 European) or Michal Sitter who recently won over two current European champions in Opava in the open category
Classic bodybuilding 180 cm
Sixteen athletes but what names? 2007 world overall champion Parfait Aime Kostedt will be challenged by the runner-up Alexander Denisenko and bronze medal winner Andrej Hlinka as well as by the 2008 European champion Zbynek Ceradsky. Very exciting category!
Classic bodybuilding over 180 cm
2007 world champion Roman Plachinta will do his best to defend the title against the attacks of the European champions: Jerzy Pisulski (2009) and Lubos Malinak (2006). European Championships bronze medal winner Jiri Wagner will have good opportunity to push the champions down in classification.
Women’s bodyfitness 163 cm
European junior champion and finalist of the 2008 European Women’s Championships Agata Radziwoniuk seems to be the favorite, but Cristina Romano and Evgeniya Lemenovskaya will be demanding rivals.

Two 2008 European’s runners-up: Miriam Sanchez (168 cm) and Olga Stepanyuk (+168 cm) will be tested by the World’s finalist Renata Jablonska and new Russian star Nadezda Lobozina.

World Championships runner-up Vera Egorova will battle against 2007 European champion Evgeniya Filyanina. Young and gifted competitor from Latvia, Olga Aleksejeva will try to make them some troubles.

The next meet of the World Championships bronze medal winner Andrzej Baczynski and 4th place player Sergey Kolenchikov.
