Zydrunas Savickas wins his fifth Arnold Strongman Classic
COLUMBUS, OH –Zydrunas Savickas of Lithuania won four events over an international field to capture
the 6th Annual Arnold Strongman Classic title. Winner for the fifth year in a row Zydrunas Savickas
received a $30,000 check and the Louis Cyr trophy from Steve Marada of MHP, an Audemars Piquet
watch by Robert Ronan and congratulations from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Savickas set a new world record in the Tire Deadlift lifting the massive barbell weighing1016 lbs.
Finishing second was Vasyl Virastyuk of the Ukraine. He received $20,000 from Tim Bently on behalf of
GNC.
The order of the other finishers was:
�� 3rd place: Andrus Murumets, Estonia, received $15,000 from Brian Deeds of EAS.
�� 4th place: Phil Pfister, United States, received $10,000 from Daniel and Emanuel Holzl of Ultimate
Nutrition.
�� 5th place: Tie: Oleksandr Pekanov, Ukraine, and Mikhail Koklyaev, Russia, both received $7,000
from Frank Sepe of MET-Rx and Vince Pe of NXLabs.
�� 7th place: Brian Siders, West Virginia, USA, received $4,000 from John Teng of Sunrider.
�� 8th place: Steve MacDonald, Pennsylvania, USA, received $3,000 from Brian Dils of Alive
�� 9th place: Karl Gillingham, Minnesota, USA, received $2,000 from Kevin Farley of Star Trac.
�� 10th place: Travis Ortmayer, Texas, USA, received $1,000 from Dave Reisman of Gold’s Gym.
Note: There was no 6th place finisher because of the tie in 5th place.
