1) One year ago you were on the verge of getting your Pro Card then you came up short. You look like the "Odds on Favorite" to receive one this year at the USA's in July, is that added pressure for you?
A) Being a favorite would be pressure if I wasn't confident in what I was bringing. At 9 weeks out my hams and glutes were getting sliced so after a long year, I feel like an artist prepping for his unveiling. It's definitely a blessing to be mentioned as a favorite and that’s based on last year's physique.....it's very different now.
2) You signed a contract with VPX & MD after you came close to getting your Pro Card last year, how significant have these two signings been for you as an Athlete?
A) Both VPX and MD are like family to me. I will do anything for them because they believe in me. I want to make both of my sponsors proud. I honestly feel that I signed with the best supplement company and magazine/website, no question about it!
3) You work at CNN News, is having this job a hindrance or an asset to becoming one of the worlds best Bodybuilders as you see it?
A) Having a career can present its challenges but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I've been training to get to this level in bodybuilding for 10 years but to get to where I'm at career wise started from the 1st grade all the way through college graduation and will last much longer than the mandatory poses. Having an education and a career in your field of study is priceless. One injury can finish bodybuilding for me, but nothing can take away my degree and the resume that I've built.
4) You're only like 27, how long do you see yourself training and competing in the sport and why?
A) I would love to compete through my 30's but the two things that I want more than anything will eventually take precedence and that's having a family and eventually becoming a U.S. Congressman for my district in NY.
5) Finish this for me, "I love Bodybuilding because............."
A)I love bodybuilding because every rep of every set of every workout provides the instant gratification that I am better than yesterday and almost as good as tomorrow.
