CP: When my clients are going to lift a heavy load, they will do six to eight warm-up sets but rarely more than three reps per set. People who have experienced shoulder or pectoralis tears did high repetition warm-up sets. Cardio is not recommended before lifting because it makes your blood slightly more acidic, decreasing blood pH and impairing nervous conduction. If you do cardio warm-ups before you train, you're actually going to be weaker.
